Every day I receive a mail from Project Happiness. This is a global movement which started as a documentary, became a book and then developed into a social media outpouring teaching people that happiness is a learnable skillset, and not a gift. “Empowering people with the resources to create greater happiness within themselves and the world” is the tag and a movement I wholeheartedly support.
This weekend I received the following and it distilled so much of what my own blog is about. Seeing beauty in the simple and every day moments of life.
We went away this past weekend to the Cederberg mountains – an ancient, utterly wild and rugged landscape which stole my heart many years ago. While there we hiked amongst the early spring wildflowers, we swam in crystal clear mountain streams, marvelled at the wild mountain beauty, watched for shooting stars in the dark night sky, and even came home with a discarded weaver bird nest. Talk about synchronicity in a post & life!
“To find the universal elements enough; to find the air and the water exhilarating; to be refreshed by a morning walk or an evening saunter…”
