Here is a simple recipe for homemade bread. It is not mine. It was passed on to me from someone but I have no idea who and in the article it mentions This weeks amazing looking bread recipe has been provided by Linda Wilson. So thank you Linda.
My girls and I have made it together lots of times and gifted it to friends and family.
You will need:
- 3 cups nutty wheat or whole wheat flour (I use 2.5 cups flour and half cup seeds/nuts)
- 1 teaspoon bicarb
- 1 big tablespoon honey
- 500ml bulgarian or greek yoghurt or buttermilk
Method:
Mix the flour, bicarb and honey. Then stir in the yoghurt (stir about 1 minute)
Transfer to baking tin and bake 50 – 60 mins at 180 degrees. (Test as you would a cake)
Tips:
Great for any variations you fancy, raisins/apple, herbs/garlic/chilli/sun dried tomatoes/whatever…best seeds are sesame and linseed (flax), sunflower and poppy. You can add oats too.
